KachingQR Invoice Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy is for the KachingQR Invoice app for Android. It explains what happens to the data you put in the app. It follows Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
Looking for the KachingQR website? Read the website's Privacy Policy.
The rules for using the app are in the KachingQR Invoice Terms of Use.
Who we are
KachingQR Invoice makes invoices with PayNow QR codes on your phone. One developer makes it, and it is published on Google Play as Kodachi Studio. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean this developer.
For any question about your data, email support@kachingqr.com. This is our contact for data protection.
The short version
- No signup, and we never see your data.
- Everything you type is stored on your phone. We never receive it.
- The app does not send your data anywhere. It has no permission to use the internet.
- The app has no analytics, ads, crash reports or tracking.
Where your data is kept
The app has no account, no sign-in and no server. It stores everything you type on your phone, in the app's own storage:
- your business details: name, address and email address
- your PayNow details: the type (UEN or mobile number), the number and the name
- your bank transfer details
- your logo
- your customers: name, email address, phone number and address
- your invoices, with their items and notes
- your settings
- whether Pro is on (the last answer from Google Play, so Pro works offline)
- the time each new invoice was created (for the free plan's monthly limit)
We never receive any of it. No code from other companies in the app collects or sends data.
Android backup (Google)
Android has its own backup service from Google. If backup is on in your phone's settings, Android may copy the app's data to your Google account. This is Google's service, and Google's privacy policy applies to it. We cannot see these backups. You can turn backup on or off in your phone's Settings.
Backup files you make
"Export backup file" makes one file with all the app's data. You choose where it goes, for example a cloud drive, an email or a chat app. Anyone with the file can read your invoices, so keep it safe. We never see it. The file does not include whether Pro is on. Pro always comes from Google Play.
"Restore from file" reads a file you pick with Android's file picker. The app can open only that one file. It does not ask for access to your phone's storage.
Sending invoices
The app makes invoices, receipts and PayNow QR images on your phone. To send one, the app opens Android's share menu, and you choose an app, such as email or chat. What happens next follows that app's own privacy policy.
Your logo
You choose your logo with Android's photo picker. The app gets only the picture you choose. It does not ask for access to your camera or your photos. It keeps a smaller copy of the picture.
Reminders
The app can remind you about late invoices. Reminders are optional. The app makes and times them on your phone, with no server. A reminder shows the invoice number and how late it is. It never shows a customer name or an amount. You can turn reminders on or off in the app's Menu or in Android settings.
Pro plan (Google Play)
Pro is an optional monthly or yearly subscription that you buy through Google Play. Google handles the payment, so we never get your card or payment details. The app asks Google Play on your phone whether your plan is active. Google's terms and privacy policy apply to the purchase.
Google Play sales reports
- What: for each purchase, Google Play gives us a sales report. It shows the order number, the date, the plan, the price, the phone model, and the buyer's country (for some countries also the state or region). It does not show your name, email address or card details.
- Why: for our accounts and tax records.
- How long: as long as tax law asks us to keep business records, up to 7 years. Then we delete any copy we made. Google also keeps these reports in Play Console, its tool for app developers, under its own rules.
Permissions
The app asks Android only for these permissions:
- Use Google Play billing: to buy Pro and check whether it is active, through Google Play's own purchase screen.
- Show notifications: for the late-invoice reminders.
- Run at start-up: to set the reminders again after your phone restarts.
- Keep the phone awake briefly, and check if the phone is online: Android uses these to time reminders. Nothing is sent.
The app does not ask for internet access, your camera, microphone, location, contacts or storage.
Emails you send us
- What: the emails you send to support@kachingqr.com, and our replies.
- Why: to answer your questions.
- How long: up to 2 years after our last reply. Then we delete them.
Our email is stored by Google Workspace. Its servers may be outside Singapore.
Delete your data
To delete everything in the app, do one of these:
- Uninstall the app.
- Open Android Settings → Apps → KachingQR Invoice → Storage (or Storage & cache) → Clear storage.
This does not delete copies you made yourself, such as backup files and invoices you sent. Delete them where you keep them. To delete the Android backup, use your Google account (Google Drive backups).
See or correct your data
The app's data is on your phone, not with us. You can see and change it in the app at any time.
We hold only the emails you send us and the Google Play sales reports. To see or correct them, or to ask us to delete your emails, email support@kachingqr.com. We reply within 30 days.
Children
KachingQR Invoice is for businesses and freelancers. It is not meant for children.
Not an official PayNow app
KachingQR Invoice is not an official PayNow app. It is not part of PayNow, and no bank or payment network endorses it. PayNow belongs to the Association of Banks in Singapore.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we change the "Last updated" date at the top. For important changes, we also say so in the app's update notes on Google Play.
