Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms are the rules for using KachingQR. By using KachingQR, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use KachingQR. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean KachingQR.

What KachingQR is

KachingQR is a free tool that makes PayNow QR codes. It also has an API, so developers can make QR codes from their own software.

We only make QR codes. We never receive, hold or move money, and we do not provide payment services. The money goes straight from the payer's bank to the payee's bank.

KachingQR is not part of PayNow, the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) or any bank. No bank or payment network endorses it.

Who can use it

Children under 13 must not use KachingQR. If you are 13 to 17, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

If you use KachingQR for a business, you confirm that you may accept these terms for that business.

Your responsibilities

  • Check each QR code before you share it. Scan it once with your own bank app, and check the name and the amount. You do not need to pay.
  • The payer must check the payee name and the amount in their bank app before paying.
  • Keep your API keys secret. Use them only in code that runs on your server. If a key leaks, revoke it on your dashboard.
  • Stay within the limits. See the free limits and the API docs.

What you must not do

  • Use KachingQR for scams or fraud.
  • Pretend to be another person or business.
  • Make QR codes for a payee that you are not allowed to collect money for.
  • Break the law.
  • Try to get around the limits, for example with many accounts.
  • Attack or overload the service, or try to get into it without permission.

Changes, suspension and ending

  • We may change the limits or the service, or stop the service.
  • We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms.
  • You can stop at any time. To delete your account, sign in and open your Account page.

No guarantees

We provide KachingQR "as is". We do not promise that it is always available or free of errors. We do not promise that every bank app accepts its QR codes.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for payments made with our QR codes, for wrong details in a QR code, or for scams by other people.
  • We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or lost business.
  • Our total liability to you is limited to S$100.

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Your liability

You are responsible for losses caused by your own fraud or illegal use of KachingQR.

Law and courts

The laws of Singapore apply to these terms. The courts of Singapore decide any dispute.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the "Last updated" date at the top. For important changes, we also show a notice on the site. If you keep using KachingQR after a change, you accept the new terms.

If a court finds that a part of these terms is not valid, the rest still applies.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.
